Monsoon Printmaking 2023

Bindu space for artists is committed to becoming a meeting point for innovative art practitioners to share and develop imaginative concepts and visions. The first event Bindu organized was a Mithila workshop at Janakpur, Nepal in 2006. In the following years, they have organized both national and international performance art events, video art workshops, artist talks, artists’ residencies, and printmaking workshops and exhibitions. Monsoon Printmaking is a workshop that began in 2010 and has continued to this day.

Monsoon Printmaking Exhibition 2023 is the outcome of an online woodcut workshop organized in 2022. The mission of this workshop was to develop and share the relief process of printmaking. Thirty-five artists from multi-disciplinary art backgrounds participated in the workshop, creating a body of unique prints. Bindu had a productive experience hosting these skillful set of printmakers. Bindu believes this iteration of Monsoon Printmaking will play an important role in encouraging printmaking as a medium of expression in Nepali art.

Bindu space for artists is immensely thankful to Siddhartha Art Gallery for supporting this project. We are thankful to the artists, art enthusiasts, and all those who helped make the workshop and the subsequent exhibition possible.
